Greetings from the Palmetto state.
Life is going well here in SC. I watched my first Gamecocks football game last thursday with my next door neighbor. It was nothing compared to the wonder that is SOONER FOOTBALL!!! I also watched (more importantly) the OU game on Saturday evening. Needless to say, it wasn't the greatest game ever played, but it was definately a "W". I'd love to be back home listening to the Sports Animal today. I'd love to see on my comments page what folks back home are saying about the game and the team.
The family and I had a fantastic trip to Myrtle Beach last weekend and I can't wait to go back. Ben is swimming in the ocean without any problem, and he even got his own "Captain Jack Sparrow" boggie board which he was able to ride from about 25 yards offshore in to the beach. He is a total beach bum. It's pretty sweet to have the ocean just a 2 hour drive away. We'll be going back at the end of September for a couple of days.
We had a good day of church, swimming, and chilling out today, and I'm off work tomorrow (HOORAY for 3-day-weekends!!!)
For all of you who loved our little green Honda, it is no more. It threw its timing belt and destroyed the valves and the head, so it's not worth a $2,000 repair, so I'm car shopping. I'm leaning towards either a Ford Explorer Sport Trac or a Nissan Frontier. I'll keep you updated with news and photos.
The week after next, I enter another super-busy two week cycle, so my update will probably not happen for a couple of weeks. But, I'll keep you as updated as I can.
Blessings on you all...have a groovy day!

| okay, brief post from palmetto land...tonight, bonnie made home made mac and cheese for dinner. after gobbling down his portion, ben told bonnie that she was a "rock star at making mac and cheese.'
so awesome.
also, ben has a girlfriend. he was too embarrassed to tell me, but he whispered it to his mom who then passed the info along to me.
too awesome.

| Hey all,
Thanks for your responses! It was sooooo awesome to hear from each of you! South Carolina is still a pretty groovy place. I actually found a really good barbeque place today, and then I went to see Talledega Nights...very funny. (Help me Tom Cruise!!! Use your witchcraft on me to get the fire off me!)
I spent the morning working on the M-16 qu-falification range, so overall it was a pretty easy day. Just a little sweat this morning, and then a pretty chill afternoon.
I'm playing golf tomorrow, and then I'm bringing the Word on Sunday morning at one of our post chapels. Our Chaplain is on a retreat so he asked me to fill in.
Ben enjoyed his second day of school today. He is really having a great time, and he's already making some good friends. Bonnie is still adjusting to her new life and schedule, and Jake just rolls with whatever comes his way. We are going to take our first family-fun-trip next weekend to Charleston. It should be a super fun time! Hope your day is going great.
